I’m Chef Katie. Cooking has always been my chosen way of communication. As a teen, I cooked meals for my family and worked in restaurants. This is where I felt an initial disconnection between humans and the food we eat.
Feeling connected means reciprocity. It means understanding all things deeply, their needs to thrive, to support each other, and their respective boundaries. The land, the plants, the animals, and human beings living harmoniously with the natural world.
This is what led me to connect with food at its inception and deepen my relationship with the food creation process
Through exploration of living on a remote property (as in no road remote) in Québec, Canada, I now steward 1000s of acres of wilderness and utilize all that it offers in my cuisine. I live in a way where creativity is nurtured and passion is prioritized so that I can open a gateway of possibility to an alternative way of dining in our modern world.
